A site about backup power for people who are worried, not for people who enjoy spec sheets.
Why this exists
Search "best solar generator" and you get twenty pages that all recommend the same four products in the same order, using the same manufacturer phrases, written by people who have never watched a freezer thaw.
None of them tell you the thing you actually need to know: whether the battery you're about to buy will get your family through Tuesday night.
That's the gap this site is trying to fill.
What we do differently
- We name products you shouldn't buy. Every review identifies at least one unit that's wrong for you and says who it's wrong for.
- We recommend the cheapest thing that works. Big batteries pay bigger commissions. We still send people to the small one when the small one is right.
- We don't publish prices. They go stale within days and Amazon's terms forbid caching theirs. Buttons go to the live page.
- We mark what we haven't verified. There are visible badges on unconfirmed claims. Most sites hide this.
- We translate specs into consequences. "1024Wh LiFePO4" means nothing. "Runs your fridge overnight and the food survives" means something.

No named author has been added yet. Google's E-E-A-T guidelines specifically penalise anonymous review sites, and an unnamed author is one of the most common reasons a new affiliate site never ranks.
Copy content/authors/_TEMPLATE.json to content/authors/your-name.json, fill in your real details, and set author: your-name in each post's frontmatter. Write about experience you genuinely have — inventing an expert is how sites get manually penalised.
How we pay for it
Affiliate commissions and Google ads. If you buy through one of our links, the retailer pays us a cut and you pay the same price you would have anyway.
That's a real conflict of interest, so we've written down exactly how we handle it in our affiliate disclosure and our editorial process. Both are worth two minutes of your time.
What we're not
We're not electricians and this isn't electrical advice. Anything touching your home's permanent wiring — transfer switches, subpanels, hardwiring — is a licensed professional's job, every time.
If you depend on medical equipment, please don't make this website your only plan. Talk to your equipment supplier, register with your utility's medical priority list, and build in redundancy.
